The Fair Housing Improvement Act (S.1267, H.R. 2846), introduced by Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Representatives Scott Peters (D-CA) and Adam Schiff (D-CA), would protect low-income households, veterans, and servicemembers, from housing discrimination based on their “source of income” and military and veteran status. Source of income includes HUD Housing Choice Vouchers, Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) vouchers, or other state and local resources.
